Miami Animation Meetup November Recap: Cards, Creativity & Korean Cuisine

Our last meetup of the year brought together five creative minds for an evening filled with laughter, strategy, and spontaneous adventures. What started as a simple board game night turned into a memorable mix of good food, games, and great conversation.
A Surprise Start & A Tasty Detour To Our Miami Animation Meetup
When we arrived at Cool Stuff Games, we discovered the store was buzzing with an unexpected Pokémon tournament! Rather than calling it a night, we pivoted and explored the plaza—finding a hidden gem of a Korean restaurant called Kimbop.
Dinner turned out to be an amazing experience. Between bites of delicious Korean dishes, conversations flowed easily—ranging from 3D printing and programming to animation rigs and upcoming projects.
Game Time (Take Two!)
Once the Pokémon trainers were wrapping up, we headed back to Cool Stuff Games and finally dove into the fun. We kicked things off with a classic card game, Set, which Bilal decided to remix—adding his own creative twist to make it more challenging. Then we gave the Funkoverse: Harry Potter Edition a shot. We may not have followed every rule to the letter, but the laughter made up for it.
A Table Full of Talent
Our small but mighty crew included a 3D printing specialist, a programmer, a rigger, a motion graphics, and a concept artist. Between rounds, we exchanged ideas about upcoming projects, large conferences, and our shared excitement for AVG’s future.
