At AVG Guild, we take pride in celebrating AVG Guild members' accomplishments and growth of our vibrant creative community. This month, we’re highlighting the inspiring achievements of several of our members — and welcoming an incredible wave of new talent joining the Guild!

Angelo Gazzia — Bringing Sloth to Life in a Technological Era
AVG member Angelo Gazzia is entering the fine art world! He showcased his work at Colores de la Cultura, presenting a 3D-printed sculpture inspired by his digital model — a thought-provoking piece exploring the concept of sloth in a technological era. His ability to merge artistic expression with modern technology exemplifies the kind of innovation we love seeing in our community. If you want to know more about his process, check out the guest blog he wrote earlier this month: The Day-to-Day Life of a 3D Character Artist: Behind the Scenes 3D Character Creation Workflow

Daniella and Ari — From Networking to Award-Winning Collaboration
Networking pays off — literally! During a WIFT (Women in Film & Television) event, Jennifer Cruz met director Jazz Patterson and introduced him to Daniella Ospina and Ari Sanchez. The connection led to a powerful collaboration for the 48-Hour Film Challenge at the Arts Accelerator Film Festival.
The team’s short film went on to win Best Film and Best Graphics and Effects, showcasing the strength of creativity, teamwork, and genuine community connections — the very spirit of what AVG Guild stands for.

Fernando Cuevas — Sharing Expertise Through Houdini School

We’re thrilled to see Fernando Cuevas take his passion for procedural design and lighting to the next level with the launch of his own Houdini course on Houdini School: HS-245 Solaris USD Layout. Fernando’s class helps artists explore cutting-edge workflows in Houdini, empowering the next generation of VFX professionals.

Jennifer Cruz — 5 Year Milestone

Jennifer Cruz has worked at PlayStation Studios on the Last of Us franchise, credited as a Lead Character Technical Director, while working remote right here in Miami, Florida. This milestone reflects not only dedication and growth but also the lasting impact she has made within the gaming industry.
