March came in loud and didn’t let up. For the Animation, VFX, and Gaming Guild, it was one of those rare months where everything clicks at once: bigger rooms, stronger partnerships, more visibility, and real wins for our community. If you missed anything (or just want to relive it), here’s our March recap of what went down and why it matters for AVG moving forward.

A Huge Partnership With Batship Studio (And Our Biggest Event Ever)

One of the biggest highlights of our March recap was teaming up with Batship Studio for what became our biggest event ever. Not just in size, but in energy. The room was packed with artists and creators who showed up ready to learn, talk shop, and make connections that actually go somewhere.

Partnerships like this are a big deal for AVG because they put our community in the same space as working professionals and studios building real projects. It’s one thing to watch a breakdown online; it’s another to be in a room where people can answer questions, give honest feedback, and share what it really takes to make work that ships.

If you attended, you already know this wasn’t just an event—it was a statement about what AVG is becoming and how Miami's creative industry is expanding.

Christine Jung Wins the 80LV Competition

A major point in this March recap is celebrating one of our own: Christine Jung, who won the 80LV competition for her environment art project.

That’s not just a win for Christine (though it absolutely is). It’s a reminder that focused craft, consistency, and strong artistic decisions get noticed. Environment art is competitive—composition, lighting, storytelling through assets, technical execution, all of it matters. And Christine’s work stood out.

If you’re building your own environment art or game art portfolio, take this as motivation: wins like this come from showing up to the work over and over again. We’re proud to have Christine in the community, and we hope her success pushes others to keep going and share their progress, too.

South Florida Film Forum: Packed Attendance and Real Connections

And then there was the South Florida Film Forum, which turned into exactly what we hoped it would be: a strong turnout, thoughtful conversations, and a lot of new connections made.

What made it hit wasn’t just the attendance—it was the mix of people in the room. Different creative backgrounds, different specialties, and the kind of networking that doesn’t feel forced. People actually talked, listened, swapped ideas, and left with new contacts they can follow up with.

That’s the point of community events: not collecting business cards, but building relationships. Whether you’re in animation, VFX, games, or film, the truth is the same—your network is part of your career toolkit.

What This March Recap Means

If March proved anything, it’s that AVG is growing—and the community is hungry for more spaces to learn, connect, and collaborate. The momentum from this March recap isn’t something we want to admire from a distance. We want to build on it.

If you’ve been following from the sidelines, consider this your invitation: come to the next meetup, bring a friend, share your work, and talk to people. The value of AVG isn’t just what happens on stage—it’s what happens in the conversations before and after.

March was big. The next months can be even bigger.
