3D Snow man

December is here, and we’re kicking off the season with creativity, storytelling, and festive artistry! Welcome to AVG’s Christmas 3D & 2D Art Challenge, where artists of every discipline — from 3D modeling to 2D animation — build magical holiday-inspired scenes inside Frosted Dimensions.

Whether you're sculpting a snow creature, animating a gingerbread fight, designing a cozy winter cabin in 3D, or creating a stylized 2D holiday short, this challenge invites you to celebrate the season through art.

Choose a Prompt — Build Your Own Frosted Dimension

How to Participate in the Christmas 2D and 3D Art Challenge

Feel free to mix, match, or twist any idea. The only rule? Make it festive and make it YOU.

Joining the challenge is easy and open to all:

Once your creation is ready, post it here and on socials! Share:

  • A render or still image

  • A short animation or FX clip

  • Behind-the-scenes screenshots or timelapse videos

Tips for Creating Beautiful Holiday Renders

Want your scene to stand out? Try incorporating:

Cinematic Lighting

Soft blue rim lights, cozy amber interiors, fairy lights, and volumetric glow instantly elevate winter scenes.

Creative Particles

Snowfall, glitters, embers, breath vapor, sparkles, and stylized VFX help enhance mood and storytelling.

Festive Shaders

Use subsurface scattering for snow, metallic flakes for ornaments, iridescent candy coatings, frosted glass, or cozy knit materials.

Strong Storytelling

Think about the emotion and narrative within your composition — a forgotten toy, a mysterious footprint, or a mech awaiting activation.

Why Join Frosted Dimensions?

This challenge isn’t just about making art — it’s about building community, leveling up your portfolio, and celebrating creativity during the holiday season. Whether you're a seasoned 3D professional or just starting your journey, the Christmas 3D Art Challenge invites you to experiment, play, and be part of something festive.

Let’s make December magical — one frame, pixel, vertex, or brushstroke at a time!
